Providing comfort, dignity and hope when it’s needed the most.
Comfort in Crisis is a charity dedicated to supporting people arriving at mental health wards during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
With the support of our community, we create and provide Comfort Bags filled with essential toiletries and thoughtful comfort items. These bags are ready to be given to those who may arrive with little or nothing of their own.
For someone arriving with only the clothes on their back, or without family or friends who can bring them the everyday essentials they need, a Comfort Bag can make a meaningful difference. It offers practical support, dignity and a reminder that someone cares.
Our aim is simple: to provide a little comfort in a time of crisis, and to bring a little hope when it may feel hardest to find.

How Can You Help?
At Comfort in Crisis, we provide mental health wards with essential care packages for people who may arrive in crisis without the basic items they need.
With your support, we create bags filled with toiletries and comfort items that can be given to those who may arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs, or who may not have family or friends nearby to bring them the essentials.
Every donation helps provide a little comfort, dignity and hope during an incredibly difficult time.
Sponsor a Comfort bag
Sponsor a care package and help us put together a complete bag of essential items for someone in crisis.
Your contribution helps cover the cost of filling a care package with practical toiletries and comforting essentials. These bags are then ready to be given to someone on a mental health ward who may urgently need them.
It’s a simple way to make a direct and meaningful difference to someone when they need a helping hand the most.
Make a Donation
Every donation, big or small, helps us continue providing care packages to those who need them.
Your donation helps us purchase the essential toiletries and comfort items that go into our bags, as well as continue supplying mental health wards with these much-needed resources.
Whether you donate a little or a lot, your support helps us reach more people and remind them that they are not alone.

Making sure our care packages are safe
- Every care package is carefully prepared with mental health ward safety in mind.
- We work to remove or avoid items that could pose a risk, including ligature risks, glass and loose plastic bags. Toiletries and other essentials are selected and packaged in safer, ward-appropriate alternatives wherever possible.
- Each bag is checked before it leaves us, helping ensure that it provides comfort and dignity while keeping safety at the heart of what we do.
“I am the activity worker on Hyndburn and I just wanted to say thank you for your generosity. These bags are amazing! I left a bag with —— last night ready for a new crisis admission and I’m sure it was greatly received. Keep up the great work and all the best for your future”
